New MDH Directories for Organizations Serving Diverse Communities Available

The Refugee and International Health (RIH) program and the Infectious Disease Equity and Engagement (IDEE) unit at the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) announced that the Directories for Organizations Serving Diverse Communities have been updated.

The Directories are now formatted in a searchable database that MDH can update regularly. Currently there are three directories available for individuals to use. A summary of each directory is below:

  • Health Services Directory This resource directory of low-cost and immigrant-friendly health services includes a listing of hospitals, clinics, organizations, and services that offer dental services, disability services, domestic violence services and sexual assault services, health services, home health services, hotlines, mental health services, and vision services.
  • Diverse Media Directory A quick reference for individuals working to identify appropriate media channels that reach a broad cross section of diverse groups including communities of color, American Indians, LGBTQ+, people with disabilities, immigrants, and refugees in the Twin Cities metro area and Greater Minnesota. Listings are divided by type of media (press, radio, and TV). Each media type is then subdivided into different target audiences. Specific programs and journals are listed alphabetically under each subdivision.
  • Community-Based Organizations Directory A quick reference for individuals working to identify appropriate community-based organizations (CBOs) that serve Minnesota’s many diverse communities. Listings are divided by communities served (African, Asian, Multicultural, Eastern European, Latino, etc.). Agencies are then listed alphabetically within each category.

These directories are intended to be a resource for Minnesota organizations to identify vendors able to provide culturally relevant services to diverse communities in Minnesota.

If you are a vendor that is interested in being added to the directory or needs updates to your submitted information, you can fill out the Update Directory Information Survey. Organizations will be asked to share contact information and select the directory they want to be added to.
