For almost 30 years, the Minnesota Coalition for Battered Women (MCBW) has released an annual Femicide Report. The 2017 Minnesota Femicide Report includes information on domestic violence and homicide that has occurred throughout the state from 1989 to 2017. In 2017, 24 Minnesotans were killed by a current or former intimate partner. The MCBW warns not to only consider the lives lost, but also all of the family members, friends, and community members impacted by the incident. Information provided in the report comes from law enforcement agencies, county attorneys, court administrators, battered women’s programs, and family and friends of murder victims.
