Abstract:

Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) is an evidence-based family home visiting program that serves low-income, first-time mothers for the first two years of their child’s life. Public health nurses (PHNs) working for NFP visit women and families in their homes to provide perinatal services and help them adjust to motherhood. NFP of the Eau Claire City County Health Department (ECCCHD) identified a need to educate their PHNs on the cultural and racial contexts of the populations they serve. For my Applied Practice Experience (APEx), I created anti-racism education materials and conducted health equity reviews to educate the PHNs on the demographics of Eau Claire.
