Abstract:
Through a five-year Strategic Plan (2018-2023), Batey Relief Alliance (BRA)® launched in 2018 a comprehensive Women’s Empowerment Initiative (WEI) that aimed to organize 5,000 women and provide them with the tools needed to escape poverty, become self-sufficient, and develop their community. The goal of the WEI program is that women and girls in Dominican Republic will be equipped with the skills training, education, micro loans and other support (nutrition, clean water, multivitamins, health care, disaster relief, etc.) needed to empower themselves. To reach the objective of WEI, a fellow student and I were tasked to evaluate and create a monitoring and evaluation tool for the initiative.
