Biden and CDC to Prevent Teen Dating Violence

Vice President Joe Biden has called for an action against dating violence and sexual assault, speaking at the 17th anniversary of the Violence Against Women Act. His “1 is 2 Many” campaign makes it clear that violence against women is not tolerated.

1 in 10 high school students still report being hurt by a significant other on purpose at least once. 1 in 5 young women will become victim of sexual assault in college. 1 in 9 teen girls will be forced to have sex. In collaboration with the CDC, Biden has awarded $7 million to four health departments to prevent teen violence before it begins. Knowing that the second in command is putting women’s health at the forefront of his agenda may demonstrate this transition into the 21st century.
